The Opportunity
Situated just outside the downtown core, on the Broadway corridor, our corporate team is looking for a full-time paralegal. We offer a welcoming, positive and accommodating work environment. The firm encourages and supports growth and leadership for all team members. The role involves working closely with a group of paralegals, legal assistants and lawyers to ensure files are completed in a timely and stream-lined manner.
The Tasks:
- Preparing and filing annual reports and resolutions for British Columbia and Federal corporations
- Maintenance of virtual corporate records books
- Incorporations
- Various share transactions such as dividend declarations, allotments, redemptions, transfers, etc…
- Dissolutions
- Invoicing clients and following up on outstanding accounts
- Corresponding with clients and solicitors

Requirements

2 years of experience in a corporate paralegal role

Prior experience with annual report filings

Strong organizational and communication skills, and the ability to prioritize effectively

Timely, proactive, and detail-oriented

Familiarity using Corporate software (e.g. ALF or Appara), Soluno and NetDocuments

Adaptive at adopting new technology and software

Ability to manage stress in a positive manner

Ability to work with minimal supervision and take initiative

Completion of the Paralegal Diploma or equivalent

5+ years of solicitor practice experience

Strong drafting skills and commercial judgment (you can be precise without being academic)
