Job Description

About Bell Alliance LLP

Bell Alliance is a Vancouver law firm built on a “people come first” philosophy. We prioritize trust, clear communication, and high standards—holding ourselves accountable to clients and to each other.

We take a modern approach to legal service delivery, investing in technology, automation, and a fully electronic environment to create a streamlined, client-first experience with a reduced environmental footprint.

Our team includes 13 lawyers and 40+ paralegals and legal assistants. We support professional growth and leadership while maintaining a practical commitment to work-life balance.

The Opportunity

We are looking for an Associate to join our Corporate / Commercial practice. You will work with owner-managed businesses, professionals, families, and entrepreneurs on practical, high-impact solicitor work—often where clarity, responsiveness, and good judgment matter as much as technical skill.

This role offers meaningful client responsibility, varied and high-quality files, and a collaborative, people-focused team environment.

Practice Areas

Depending on experience and interest, your work may include:

  • Corporate reorganizations (including tax-driven reorganizations)
  • Purchase and sale of businesses (share and asset transactions)
  • Corporate governance and share transactions
  • Commercial agreements and contracts
  • Commercial leasing (landlord and tenant)

Why Join Bell Alliance

  • A trust-based, relationship-driven practice
  • Modern systems and technology-enabled delivery
  • Opportunity for growth and leadership
  • Community-minded culture

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive salary: $140,000 – $170,000
  • Comprehensive health and wellness benefits
  • Health Care Spending Account
  • Work-life balance
  • Networking and team-building opportunities

While we thank you for your interest, we will only respond to short-listed candidates due to the volume of resumes we receive daily.

Requirements

  • 7-10 years of solicitor practice experience

  • Strong drafting skills and commercial judgment (you can be precise without being academic)

  • A client-service mindset grounded in clarity and responsiveness

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-standard environment

  • A team-first, process-minded approach: you communicate proactively, help troubleshoot bottlenecks, and share knowledge—whether that means improving a checklist, coordinating a smooth handoff, or helping a colleague get a file across the finish line

  • Able to adapt to evolving systems and processes in a practice that actively invests in how it works (technology, automation, and electronic workflows)
